They started back at the basic. He's only eight years old and they found where he missed the step in learning and then recreated that or built on that foundation. That was one of the things that we like about Sylvan. Also, I like that my daughter got to see the style of a couple different tutors and she found one that she really enjoys. There are different motivators for each of my children. The oldest like to understand the concept. The oldest is appreciative of the tutor who is very direct and helps her understand the concept. But Sylvan does cater to the issue we're trying to solve then work with us as far as what they would recommend. But we have to work it within our budget. We had a couple of different tutors for my son before we went with Sylvan Learning Centers. We had a family member who was the head of the math department at one of the local high schools.
