Without iTunes you can't really transfer files from PC to phone or vice versa. Some features within iTunes are complicated to use and for some reason sometimes when you drag files from your PC to your phone, like music files and disconnect from iTunes sometimes your songs disappear from the phone which makes it very frustrating.
