We brought a lunch and ate at the car since no outside food or drink is allowed. This park truly delivers. As a a bit of a clean freak, I was blown away by the cleanliness of the park. There were no signs of trash or food lying around, as the park doesn't allow for food to be brought inside. This may be a problem for some, but we just packed a picnic and ate out in the parking lot before reentering! The kids were able to go on all of the slides by day's end, and I was able to relax in the lazy river! If you go, do yourself a favor and take a ride on the lazy river, please! We found a great deal on our tickets through Costco, but I also heard that Raging Waves has an excellent offer on Groupon, too!
All in all, if you're passing through Yorkville, make sure you find time for a day this waterpark! Glad I did not pay full price to go here. I missed the Groupon, but saw the discounted tickets at Costco. I had no idea how expensive waterparks had gotten. I will leave my towels on a chair, thank you. I was pracically strip searched at the gate for food or water. Again, really? What happend to the days of bringing a picnic lunch and some water bottles. I was told to throw away my food or bring back to the car, forcing me to buy their over priced food or eat lunch in my car.
As a former lifeguard of many years myself, I was apalled that they had the lifeguards focused on blowing their whistles to tell people without wrist bands for a rental tube that they could not be on a tube? Really raging waves, can't you give everyone a tube? I listened to nothing but whislte blow after whislte blow of lifeguards telling people to get off tubes with no wrist band. We got a wrist band with our Costco tickets, so it was a non issue for us. But the lifeguards need to be focused on the safety of the swimmers, not on wrsit bands and tubes.

This place must be making a killing because they let in a million people and only have a handful of staff to keep up with them. If you enjoy waiting in lines then you will have a blast. Other than that: beware. We got there right when they opened at 10 and by 2 we had only hit up the lazy river and 1 slide. There are not nearly enough places to eat- the lines even at 3 on a hot day are way too long.
