I love all the LA Gondola restaurants! They have the best garlic bread, sweet white bread, and Gondolas! I am getting bigger just thinking about all that yummy food!

About a week or two ago, we visited here for dinner. I had very high expectations because I love the La Gondola in Pekin, so I expected great things here as well.

However, I found it to be just mediokre. I always like eating in a clean, well mantained facility, and I thought that this eatery was rather dirty seeming and needed lots of renovation. Besides that, the bread on my grilled cheese was very hard, and the cheese was cold. The whole sandwich was just okay, and it was kind of gross since the cheese was so cold. The service also took very long for their only being two other parties there besides mine. I'm not sure if I'd come back, but it wasn't the best, especially for being more expensive than the Pekin restaurant.
Next time I think I'll stick to the Pekin one. Been here a handful of times and every single time, the person taking my order is in a bad mood and seems disappointed that a customer has arrived. The food pricing is on the higher side of average, a point that could easily be overlooked if the staff treated customers like they were thankful for the business. Like most mom and pop type shops the atmosphere is just ok.

The 5 or so tables can quickly fill up at lunch time. I'll likely return at some point when they put out a coupon, in hopes that the staff reads this review and decides to be a bit more cordial.
