When my cat was younger I used to wash it every 45 days. The unit is easy to disassemble and clean, you can watch my post how to clean it here. The Globe contains most of the litter the cat digs, but still some litter can spill out the Globe when the cat jumps out. You can use the Ramp which is an accessory to minimize this. I know this unit is a large investment, but if your goal is to get rid of the litter box scooping without almost no maintenance and odors, this is your best bet.
My cat urinates in her regular litter box but then turns around and does number 2 on the floor. Will be litter robot preventer from turning around and doing number 2 and getting feces on my floor. She would urinate on the center of the litter box or close to it and then would get close to the corner when doing 2 so the stool would fall on the carpet.
