Lawrence Seaway. We loved walking around the little town. There was a great selection of little restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed our boat ride and tour of the Bolt Castle. Lovely visit. We came here on our honeymoon 23 years ago and a couple times afterwards, the last one being 17 years ago. The city sure has changed. Not much of a downtown anymore. Shops are either antique or consignment shops. In fact, everything was ok, except for an Italian restaurant "Riva" where we wanted to eat. At the reception of the restaurant we were badly treated by the person who was there, telling us in a very arrogant way "We had no room for THIS", pointing to two children who were with us.

If the restaurant does not accept children, he could have expressed it that way, with kindness, but not referring to children contemptuously as "THIS"! It is unfortunate that all the people who attended us in Gananoque have been very kind and attentive, but treatments like the one we received from that person at the restaurant leave a very bad image. We really enjoyed the overall pleasantness of the town. To draw tourists, I think it could use another restaurant or two.

But, from a selfish standpoint, I'm glad we caught it at the stage it is in. Not a place to stay for very long unless you are boating. The ferry tours are the main attraction, with lots of lines to buy tickets and then to board the ferry. The town is small - we do recommend the Gan Brewery. We visited the Shoreline Casino and ate their specials for card holders each night. There is a good bookstore downtown but not much other shopping except for dollar stores.

We did love the theatre. Not a spot where you would want to stay for more than a few days. We would highly recommend staying at the Waterside Inn whenever you might be in Gananoque. Great staff. Cute cozy room.

Super comfortable beds and pillows and excellent value. Grounds are very pretty and right by the Parkway made it super convienent to islands and Plus several stores and restaurants right near by. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Definately a recommended spot especially when the price is factored in. We booked 3 rooms here and slept well at night. Breakfast was not bad too. I like here more than those 2 storey motels. The room has beach chair outside to enjoy the sunshine. Plus I forgot some belongings in room, when I back to there afternoon to ask, they have tagged and left at front desk.

Very honest staff! The room and the facility are lovely, managed with love by their owners who are very helpful and full of advices for their guests. Everything was perfect, location extremely convenient for the boat tours from Gananoque and the homemade breakfast was the cherry on the pie. We loved the location and the owners were both very friendly hosts.

Spacious self contained apartment. We left a charging cord and adapter in the suite. The hosts were kind enough to leave them in a spot for us to pick up on our way back home. Thank you! Gananoque is a lovely small town with a lot of good restaurants and a craft beer brewery. Spacious rooms, delicious made to order breakfasts, quiet location but easy access to Gananoque.

Hosts were welcoming and very helpful. Would definitely recommend their place! Location was waking distance to main part of town. Staff were friendly and very welcoming. Room was very comfortable. Breakfast choices were great and always attended to:. The people were incredible. Learned our names and recognized us by them each time we saw them! Just the kind of people you want running a small Inn. Location was excellent, the staff was very nice and polite specially the lady on the front desk Paula the breakfast was amazing as well.

A big comfy bed and a sofa- we have mostly been sitting on beds to watch tv in our Canada hotels so far, so a sofa was a real treat. Everything was great. The hotel is very clean and the staff are nice. Excellent value for money. Great location for Islands cruises. We are bicycling so the motel was great for us.
