Since the coupon had been printed out at home on our computer, we could have easily made more than one. How about making a copy of one? Server said that was OK, but their office copy machine was off-limits. Said that she was on our side, but that "they" wouldn't let her take sides.

This was getting silly, so we went ahead and paid full price for our two meals.

No biggie, but are we looking forward to our next visit to Dixie Crossroads? Not really, we'll pass. We sincerely appreciate that you come with your family and friends and want to understand what happened with the coupon. We are confused because we have never offered a "two-fer" discount. As for the servers response, that should not have happened. We will gladly come to your table and see what we can do to accommodate your request. Thanks for bringing this to our attention and we hope to see you again.

This is a friendly, family style, come as you are place. I waited about 10 minutes on a rainy Wednesday night for a table for one, which I thought was a bit strange, but I think it might have been Grandparents Night based on what I overheard. I was alone on business and I really hate going to restaurants alone, however, the service was great and the food came out very quickly, so I was able to minimize my solo experience. I had the rock shrimp, fish and scallops. Like virtually every other restaurant nowadays, the scallops were not real scallops you can tell because they don't have a foot - where they attach to the shell - and they don't taste like real scallops but are whatever is sold nowadays and passed off as scallops.

Village Pizza

I don't think any US restaurants even know the difference anymore my waitress certainly didn't since I haven't seen a real scallop in a US restaurant in decades - so this is probably more of an industry thing than a comment on this particular restaurant. They were, however, tasty and well prepared. The cod was average. The rock shrimp are a local thing - tasty little guys but not much meat - you should try them if you have never had them. I took back to the room the apple and walnut creation with ice cream.

The take home packaging was biodegradable cardboard, which I appreciated as not being polystyrene or plastic. The desert was very poor, the apples were undercooked and not a good tasty baking variety and the spices were just plain old bad. The ice cream was good. The prices were high for the quantity and quality served. Once here was enough for me, but clearly this place gets very busy with local traffic - based on the size of the other dining rooms and the parking lot. Own or manage this property?
