I was greeted at the top by two glamorous women. Feeling like I was going to be shown the door for being completely underdressed I asked if I could have a quick drink. Can I sit outside? Yes, yes. Please find a seat. It's a great view, but you can get better further down the river. The crowd was mixed, mostly after work city types who were buying bottles of champagne just because it was Wednesday.

And the music?

The Agua Spa London

Well, apparently that didn't start until 7pm. It transpired that the time on the sign was the time the bar opened. Spontaneity brought me to this bar, it didn't wow me but it's certainly unoffensive. The Rumpus Room bar is definitely a sight to behold. Perched on the twelfth floor of the Mondrian Hotel, sat right on the south side of the Thames, the views are stunning. You might be able to see more from other tall buildings in London but on a summer's evening, the sun lighting up the mixture of glass and brick across the river, you can't really fault it.

I was there on a promotional night so I can't vouch for the bar itself but while the decor wasn't necessarily to my taste, it did feel nice and spacious, although if it's not raining there's no reason to leave the Terrace.
