Everything was good staff friendly clean rooms. The motel features an outdoor pool and guest rooms provide free Wi-Fi. You can make a donation The Sculpture Park is absolutely free, and amazing. Many great restaurants! They have lots of activities and places to go. My stay was OK except for the Key did not work in my room three nights in a row when I came back tired.

And the phone did not work in my room. Other than that my stay was fine. Breakfast was good and the staff was very helpful. Our trip to Des Moines was to visit a good friend, so we did not do any touristy things. Our friend took us to several different restaurants to eat. Our favorite was Tasty Tacos! Just disappointed they weren't open on Sundays We also enjoyed a meal at Montana Mike's Steakhouse. The Iowa State Capital Building is awesome. Just wish I had taken a picture.
Half of our party were Cubs fans and the other half Cardinal Fans! I've traveled for work or leisure, with and without family, for many years. Most hotels all have the same stuff, but here everything was great. Everything was clean, everything worked, the beds were clean and comfortable, even the carpet was in good shape. Probably the best hotel stay I've ever had. I recommend the hot tub. In an up and coming area East Village with breweries, a yummy cupcake place, and some cool stores like Raygun; walkable to everywhere downtown you'd want to go; staff was great ; the hotel was really nice and felt homey.
The realy cool pool area. The reastrunt Big Al attached to the hotel was very good. They let my family bring in a birthday ice cream cake from cold stone creamy for my sons 9th birthday. They upgraded us to the nicest room they had unprompted!

Still not sure why they did but it's our favorite hotel in downtown Des Moines area. Fantastic staff and breakfast! The location was great for the event I was attending, when I pass through Des Moines again, I will stay here!

Over 50 other people that attended the rally also stayed here. It was close to downtown Des Moines and Greys Lake Park; the rooms were large; there was a restaurant within walking distance; shower was good. Staff was very accommodating. We parked the car and flew from Des Moines. The parked car shuttle got us quickly to the hotel.
