I find it's very difficult to find contemporary furniture at any decent price in America. Everything in Raymore and Flannigan or Bob's looks like it was made at least twenty years ago and they still cost an arm and a leg. At least with the IKEA stuff, you aren't breaking the bank to furnish with a modern look. Other contemporary furniture gets stupid expensive. Great bedding for the price, modern sheet and duvet sets, lighting the adjustable LED lights are seriously amazing. I could go on and on about their lighting kits. I have one in every room and you can sync the bulbs to separate wireless controllers.

Programmable brightness and colors It simplifies lighting so much and they use fuck all for lekky , bathroom linens and mats, utensils, etc. Avoid the knives, unless you need something super cheap won't last for ten years. That all said, if someone else knows where I can find furniture that looks like it was actually designed in the past decade for a decent price let me know!

I've bought lots of stuff there over the years.

Bookshelves, credenzas, chairs, tables, etc It's lasted. You'll get tired of it before it wears out. Getting everything into a car in problematic. One time I had to unpack everything in the parking lot and repack it into the car. It just fit that way. No idea about stores but honestly if you're looking for something cost-friendly check Facebook Marketplace.

Complimentary Design Assistance

I thought it would be gross CL type stuff but I furnished almost my entire first apartment last year with stuff I bought off there. Most of it was practically new and actually nice-looking and modern. Check wealthier towns especially because people will be getting rid of stuff for cheap and you can find some great items on there. Every store I went in to when I was looking was just an awful experience tbh, the salespeople at places like Bob's, Value City Furniture, and Ashley Furniture aggressively follow you around the store and won't leave you alone even if you tell them you're just looking.

I got my bed for a really good price from Macy's Furniture Gallery in Springfield and the people there were great, but the rest of their furniture is pretty expensive.

Ashley has high quality stuff but their reps are super-high pressure. Do not be afraid to be savage and walk right the fuck out of they get on your case. I've been looking on their website and they do have some nice stuff. Thanks for the warning! I hate pushy sales people.

Before I ever go to a regular store, I always check the Habitat for Humanity ReStore, which is a thrift store with only furniture, housewares, and building supplies. This store carries an array of different styles traditional, contemporary, transitional, etc , including a hard-to-find nautical fashioned furniture.
